I am so excited to share my review on YI M1 Mirrorless Camera with 2 Lens Kit by Yi Technology! I can't wait to capture amazing memories and pictures with my new camera!
I was looking for a mirrorless camera to take on my trips and just for fun picture takes so I am so happy that I found one! I am collaborating my Yi Technology to show you guys what the YI M1 Camera can do and the amazing pictures it can take! For the next few months, I will be posting pictures taken on my Y1 M1 Mirrorless Camera!
Get ready for some awesome shots but first I will show you all some cool features and tech specs of the camera!
There are two colors of the camera you can choose from, Storm Black or the Ice Silver. The lenses also come in two colors; Storm Black and Ice Silver. I got the YI M1 Camera in Storm Black with 2 Lenses (YI 12-40mm F3.5-5.6 Lens and
YI 42.5mm F1.8 Lens). You can either choose to get the both of the lenses kit or just one of them.
The Y1 M1 has the latest Sony 20MP image sensor so your pictures will be in the highest resolution and delivering accurate color reproduction. Let me start of saying that the minimalistic design of the camera is so perfect! The camera is so easy to use for beginner and professional photographers! The camera is touch screen which enables you to touch the camera if you want to focus it or you can choose options from the menu with the touch screen! This camera is perfect for all level of photographers because the menu provides simple to advanced setting modes.
Another great highlight of the YI M1 is it’s connectivity. It has BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and Wi-Fi built-in, so it can connect to your smartphone enabling you to easily transfer your pictures to your phone and then upload to social media. The YI Mirrorless App can also give you access to other features such as picture editing, and a catalog of templates you can use in the master guide setting.
The YI 1 M1 also has several video shooting modes! The best part about the shooting mode is its ability to shoot in 4K/30p. It also offers 2K/30p, Full HD 1080p and 720 at 60, 30 and 24p. Autofocus is available while shooting video in the form of complete auto AF-C, but if you're using the 12-40mm F3.5-5.6 zoom lens you will also have the ability to use manual focus with focus peaking.
One of the great features of the M1’s manual mode is that it will allow you to set the shutter speed to as long as 60 seconds. Most cameras I’ve used cap out at 30 seconds. So, you can afford to drop your ISO a stop, and increase the shutter to a full minute to help minimize noise in night time long exposures.
Bulb mode works the way you’d expect, however there’s no way to use an external trigger with the M1. You can’t plug one in, and the mobile app doesn’t work as a remote control. So you have to use the shutter on the camera.
I went on a hike couple days ago and took my M1 Camera with me and was able to capture some amazing pictures! Below you will find some pictures that was taken on the Y1 M1 Camera.
I will be traveling all throughout the summer this year so I am going to be taking my Y1 M1 Camera with me to capture some great pictures! I can't wait to show you guys my travel pictures!
